In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

Dealing with children

I heard something interesting from a friend who was talking about what this lady who she knows, does when her kids stress her out. What this lady says is, mommy needs to take a time out. And then she goes into another room and relaxes for a few minutes before coming out.
Then my friends were talking about other ideas that they heard regarding dealing with children.

good week

This past weekend

I usually stay home for shabbos. But this time one of my friends got me to go with them to this family they know. At first I thought I don't know them but later I found that I do. It's funny bumping into people you haven't seen in a long time. My friend was surprised and had that 'you know them?' look. I remember my brother was friends with one of their sons when they were on my block a long while ago. Now the family lives somewhere else and their sons are on the east coast. But they still have a little daughter at home.

Anyway, my shabbos there was excellent.

Last night and today I was looking at the parody blogs and they're hilarious. It's amazing how they put it together. Great job.

Remember?

Remember when you were a kid? For me it was the 80's and 90's. Ah, I remember when my younger brother and I would play outside with the other kids on the block. We played tag, baseball and other stuff. We also sometimes would watch a video together. Now those friends live somewhere else and some other kids live on the block now.

I also enjoyed all of my siblings being at home. Made things more lively. Their friends would come over and it would be nice. I guess I like having a lot of people in house. Now it's just my other two siblings and me, which is fine too.

What I miss about elementary school is the activities like color war, the plays, dancing outside on Rosh Chodesh Adar and other stuff. Later, in eigth grade, we did this thing early one morning called a snatch breakfast where our teacher Mrs. M drove us to each of our classmate's houses where we went inside and woke them up. Then they came with us to another's house. And afterwards, we finally had breakfast at our teacher's house.

Then there's the high school memories and the college memories. I'm so glad my girlfriends were with me in college. Made it much more interesting. On a side note, eventhough I graduated, I'm still taking a class.

What are your memories?
