In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

Dealing with children
I heard something interesting from a friend who was talking about what this lady who she knows, does when her kids stress her out. What this lady says is, mommy needs to take a time out. And then she goes into another room and relaxes for a few minutes before coming out.
Then my friends were talking about other ideas that they heard regarding dealing with children.
good week

great topic
I wonder how well that works...
My mom used to make US take a time out if we stressed her out... and that certainly worked. We learned how to behave so the house was usually calm. This, even with 8 kids.
sounds like a wonderful mother, it's definitely better than outing her frustrations towards the kids.
I tell that to my wife all the time..
Just disingage....go into your room and lock the door for 5-10minutes..you'll see they'll find away to manange..and you'll regroup your sanity..
But she wont listen
lol
How many kids does this woman have and what are their ages... those variables matter for this kind of method.
AF, calm house even with 8 kids, impressive.
Prag, I agree. I think what she's worried about is snapping at the kids and so she calms down first b4 dealing with them.
DMJ, lol, I guess not.
David, like the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. - But hopefully she'll consider it.
FG, I don't know how many she has and their ages. But your right, it Does denpend on that.
its a smart idea. a calm mother can control much better and causes the children inurn to be calm.
Not sure I love that idea (but I'm not a mom so who am I to, lulei demistafina, comment).
I think kids need to see strength in their parents.
Thanks for your input everyone.
Cloo, This is Not after they did something wrong. This is if they are all trying to get her attention and are all screaming and driving her nuts. Instead of snaping, she calms down first and then deals with them. To me that takes strength.
