In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

making a difference

There's going to be a basketball game here on Oct 20 involving the Los Angeles Clippers and the Maccabi Tel Aviv team.

The proceeds go to a youth villiage in Israel named Migdal Ohr which helps disadvantaged children; The organization was started by Rabbi Grossman who's from Jerusalem; Even without superpowers, it's truely amazing what one person can do, Baruch Hashem
Here's a video of the place there

...since I have family in Migdal Haemek I’ve been able to experience it a little closer than others, but I must say I’ve always liked Rav Grossman. I don’t know any group that thinks negatively about him.

I once read how he ended up in migdal haemek (in a book about the Lelover Rebbe...since he was a Lelover Chasid). The Rebbe simply called him in one day and told him that he should go teach children torah in the north. And Rav Grossman was actually a pretty unlikely candidate for the job; just a timid young kollel man in mea shearim. But I guess the Lelover Rebbe had some intuition about him because he’s been the right man for the job...

Thanks for sharing :)

I read his story in articles, it's very interesting. When he came to Migdal Haemek many years ago, the town was in horrible shape, like south central LA. He went to find some people and found out where many gather. He went to the dance club and became friends with them in order to help them. And it goes on from there

Yeah, I didn’t want to mention the act that early on he as known as the “disco-tek” rabbi, since either way most people it was a positive thing..and gained lasting results..
