In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

Remember?

Remember when you were a kid? For me it was the 80's and 90's. Ah, I remember when my younger brother and I would play outside with the other kids on the block. We played tag, baseball and other stuff. We also sometimes would watch a video together. Now those friends live somewhere else and some other kids live on the block now.

I also enjoyed all of my siblings being at home. Made things more lively. Their friends would come over and it would be nice. I guess I like having a lot of people in house. Now it's just my other two siblings and me, which is fine too.

What I miss about elementary school is the activities like color war, the plays, dancing outside on Rosh Chodesh Adar and other stuff. Later, in eigth grade, we did this thing early one morning called a snatch breakfast where our teacher Mrs. M drove us to each of our classmate's houses where we went inside and woke them up. Then they came with us to another's house. And afterwards, we finally had breakfast at our teacher's house.

Then there's the high school memories and the college memories. I'm so glad my girlfriends were with me in college. Made it much more interesting. On a side note, eventhough I graduated, I'm still taking a class.

What are your memories?

Today an activity like that with the teacher would probably be illegal,.
I don't have such fond memories of school and teachers, I wasn't the brightest and often left to keep myself busy n the class rooms, I wish we'd had blogs then, that would've been a god outlet.

I guess I should have mentioned that they called the parents the night before to let them know about the activity.
I'm sorry to hear about your school experience. Yeah it would have been nice to have blogs back then. I agree.

Ah, the days of no responsibility... they were IT! I'm glad to be an adult though. Go figure.

Ah..carefree days in Israel..when my biggest worries were if I would get caught coming back to the dorm late at night or if they would catch me meeting boys..

Now I have midterms and papers and fin aid headaches..

FG, eventhough I miss the past, I'm happy to be an adult also. Now I can go where I want and other stuff. I guess there are pros and cons to both.

SG, sounds like you had fun there. At least there's always your memeories.
wish you hatzlacha

I remember the feeling of infinite possibility. Like I could grow up and be a fashion designer, world famous actress, even the president. Actually, I'm not totally grown up yet...you never know...

The chance to live in my imagination . . . to not only think of my own stories, but to live them.

I think we can still amalgamate that feeling of fun together with the responsibilities of being an adult, why miss out on it?

True, I agree.

Sure, I have fond memories... but I'm glad to have finally grown up. I don't miss the searching and yearning of most of my teenage years.. I would never give up the settled feeling i have now of being at peace with myself; of knowing who I am, who I want to be, and confident that the path I grew up with, and I chose to follow, is the only way I could ever live.

that's good
