In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

an upgrade

My street was recently repaved. I was thinking that it's kind of unnecessary since it was fine, and there are plenty of other streets that need it more. Then again, maybe it's good for them to do this street now, instead of waiting for it to get bad.

Later on, as I was walking towards my house, I saw a bunch of kids riding their bikes on the street. This was their chance since it was blocked off at both ends. It takes me back to my childhood when my brother and I use to play with our friends outside, either tag or baseball or something. Seems so long ago. Time goes so fast.

New floor clearner?

Recently, I was standing next to the dryer and by mistake I knocked down the liquid detergent. The cap broke and some of it spilled on the floor before I picked it up. - On the bright side though, it cleaned the floor pretty nice.

Lag B'omer

Man, I would love to go to Israel and sit around a bonfire.
I know that Lag B'omer is not here yet, but anyway, here's a small poem that I wrote last year on it.

small yet important

story poem I've been thinking about
-

They made plans, but they didn't
go through.
They waited and waited
and finally it happened.
The individual over time
became powerful
and felt great.
But, it didn't last,
and they went back down.
Disillusioned and shattered,
they went for a walk.
Someone then came along
and gave some comfort saying,
'yes we are only human
and not totally in charge,
but we are still each an important
piece of the puzzle with a purpose.'
Humbled and inspired,
they tried again, only differently
this time
