In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

Seize the moment

.
This elul, we have the oppertunity to think of how to improve for the following year. Lets grab it and use it wisely. And remember, when working on a goal, it's best to do it gradually so we have a higher chance of being successful.

Sidenote, I'm going on a trip this week. And so I'll talk to you later. Have a good week.

funny labels

Found this here

Labels on some consumer goods

On a Sears hairdryer: Do not use while sleeping.
(Darn, and that's the only time I have to work on my hair).

On a bag of Frito's: ..You could be a winner! No purchase necessary.
Details inside. (is this the shoplifter's special)?

On a bar of Dial soap: "Directions: Use like regular soap."
(and that would be how???....)

On some Swanson frozen dinners: "Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(but, it's "just" a suggestion)

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom):
"Do not turn upside down."
(well...duh, a bit late, huh)!

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding:"Product will be hot after heating."
(...That one is for the blonde in all of us...)

On packaging for a Rowenta iron: "Do not iron clothes on body."
(but wouldn't this save me more time)?

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine:"Do not drive a car or operate
machinery after taking this medication."
(Now mind you, I believe the key word there is Children.
We should all put our children to work driving or operating machinery...
Right?)

On Nytol Sleep Aid: "Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(and...I'm taking this because???....)

On a Japanese food processor: "Not to be used for the other use."
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)

On Sunsbury's peanuts: "Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts:
"Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: maybe, uh...fly United?)

On a child's superman costume: "Wearing of this garment
does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this one.)

communicating

I found this really good article on communication and marriage. The author makes good points that sound simple but everyone can improve on it. Firstly, she mentions that when someone says something, we should try to figure out what they are really trying to say. But the main point is that a couple should try to communicate clearly to each other so they know what each other wants and can have a more peaceful home.

reunion

Yesterday on Sunday, I met someone that I haven't seen since 8th grade 12 years ago. Then again I might have seen them a few years ago at a classmate's wedding. But anyway, it's amazing to finally see someone again after so long and catch up on what's happening. I asked her if she has kept in touch with the others and where they are living now, and she gave me an update.

Later, I mentioned to someone else, that we should have a class reunion. I long to see them again and find out what they are doing now etc. Only problem is everyone is so busy, and it would probably be hard for some who are far to come. Oh well. Over the years, I have seen a few here and there. I guess that's enough.
