In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

Always a dawn

A couple shabbosim ago, I heard Rebbitzen Twersky speak at a certain shul that was having a shabbatan. She was talking about y'tziat mitzrayim and pesach and gave many beautiful messages. One of them was that when we are in a hard situation that looks hopeless and feel like things will never change, we should not despair, but remember that just like the Jews in Egypt who were in the 49th level of impurity were redeemed and taken out of there, so too even if we're in situation that is very bleak, there is still hope. - And she said that this story gives us a message for all time that there is always hope.

What an interesting novel does

The story so interesting
Your mind often on it
It takes you in it's world
And moves you
Angers you
Excites you
Saddens you
Charms you
And delights you
That is the power
Of a good novel

lonely

The dollar desire

I was looking at an article in a newspaper and it was talking about billionairs not giving as much as they should, to help people. And it got me thinking, firstly, there is only so much that a person can buy and so they might as well share it with those who need it. And secondly, people have forgotton what the purpose of money is. The purpose of money is not to horde it but to use it. We have money so we can get what we need and want and also help others. In my opinion, it's silly to want money just for the sake of having it. It's just paper. What makes it special is it allows us to get things, plus do good things with it. I guess that's why people enjoy it so much, it gives them the feeling that they can have whatever they want. I enjoy it too. But I want to put it to good use.

On the other side, some people who can't afford to, spend too much and max out their credit card on things they don't need instead of saving it for more important things like rent and food and emergencies, etc. The key here is balance. Save some and spend some.

Inside the sphere

A few brave bloggers actually went inside the blogosphere to see what it looks like. What they saw, they found to be very interesting and decided to take others with them the next time they go. Later, they came back and toured around the place. There were all these rooms in different directions. This room and that room and many more rooms to choose from. The whole thing was quite overwhelming. Plus, they were trying to be careful to not wind up in a dangerous one, which was no easy task. On the bright side, during their trip they came to many that were either entertaining, helpful, ones they can relate to, and others. Afterwards, they came out and were back in their computer chair. What a trip!

nuts

-
I was going to show a couple of scenery pics I took but when I put it on here it looked black for some reason. The second time I tried, it looked white. Oh well. It would have been nice since I now have a scanner.

finding the same pic

-
I've noticed that many people come to my blog by searching for images. Espcially this pic with the bright star below the other pic. Interesting that so many people search for a topic that's related to that picture. They also come through other image searches as well, like when searching for an underwater pic or a lightning pic.

What things bring people to yours?

Weekend happenings

-
On shabbos afternoon, I went to see some friends and hung out with them. Later on motzei shabbos, I went to a unique megilla reading. I was expecting for the guy to just read it like other people do. But what he did was put different voices to the person he was reading about. It was cute and enjoyable.

On Sunday, I had the seuda at home. Later, I walked with a friend to a concert part that was on one of the small side streets. It was huge, so many people! I feel like I hardly know any of them. Which makes me feel like I should try to get to know more people in my neighborhood, lol.
The concert was given by Shlomo Simcha, Avraham Fried, MBD, and Yeedle. I stayed for like an hour and forty five minutes and then walked home.

Well that's it. Have a good rest of the week

Special Report: Blogosphere epidemic (writer's block)

Bloggers everywhere are experiencing writer's block. This is truly a phenomenon because it's usually only a few bloggers. But somehow a whole lot of them have started to experience this. Some might say it's impossible since there's always something going on that people can discuss. But it's happened.
For some though, the issue is not that they don't have anything to write, but that they have too much to write and don't know what topic to pick. One blogger did give out an idea that the ones who have too much should give some ideas to those who don't have any. However, another blogger said that people might have a hard time deciding what to share with others and so they're going to have to think about it before giving some away. Hopefully, this will help and over time as people get more ideas, the blogosphere will get back to normal. As if it ever was, lol
