In life, we can either let our experiences make us bitter, or we can channel that feeling towards being a good example in order to improve things.

Taking Initiative

I'm working towards being a preschool teacher and right now I'm an assistant. A while ago when I was taking a class where you do interning in a school, the thing that always slowed me down was my fear of not knowing what to do in certain situations. For instance, when there was a conflict between two kids over a toy, I would freeze and forget what to do and say. And so I would get someone else to handle it. Also, sometimes when the teacher wants the kids to move on to another activity and they want to keep playing, it's hard to get them to listen and stop. And so all the challenging things I would let the other teachers there do.

Recently though, I've decided that the only way I'll learn is if I do it myself so I can get the practice. Mainly because this teacher put me to task. And I thought to myself, she's right. I can do it if I just take iniative and try hard enough. The problem was I was too soft and so the kids wouldn't listen to me when I would tell them to stop playing and come to the carpet. And so I decided to try something else. I took the toy out of their hands, put it away and then lead them to the carpet.

I think working at the this school has really helped me to gain confidence in myself, BH.

My self given tour

Have you ever given yourself a tour of your own city?

That's what I sometimes do. I love walking around on streets I don't usually see and just take in the scenery.

And so this past Wednesday afternoon, after leaving the place I was at, I decided that instead of hopping on a bus and going straight home, I'll take the scenic route and give myself a little walking tour.
It was really enjoyable because the area I was walking through (which is mainly residentual) is a very nice area and so it enhanced it.

Not many people do this. And it's understandable, either they don't have time or they're just use to taking the same route all the time. I guess in this case, I like to think outside of the box and go inside an area I haven't paid much attention to.

Deffinately added some flavor to the day.

Here we go

The Trip ch. 1

Alex, who's in his twenties, was walking down the street when he saw his friend Eric nearby.
He walked over to him and said, "What's up?"
"Nothing much. Eric replied. You?"
"Same here."
They continued walking down the block and then Eric said, "So, you ready for the trip?" "Yeah. Alex replied. Just need to get a few more things together. By the way, are we all meeting tonight for dinner?" "Yep, we're all going to meet around 7 and discuss the final plans for the trip tommorow." "Cool."

That night at the restuarant Melissa and Keri were talking to each other about a certain article one of them read online. Then they joined the conversation that Jason, Eric and Alex were having about a certain movie they saw.

Okay Pragmatician, your turn.

don't post this paragraph, just a link to it.

Interesting Idea

I have this idea. We can do a community story. How it works is, I'll start it like one small paragraph and then pass it on to someone else who will write another small paragraph and they'll pass it on to someone else. And the one who is picked to continue it, will post the previous paragraph before writing the new paragraph. And then they'll pick someone else.

What do you think? Is it a good idea or no?

Those special occasions

On thursday evening, I went to my best friend's wedding and it was absolutely amazing. Plus, it's more fun when it's your best friend than someone you haven't seen since junior high because you know more people and so it's more enjoyable. Anyway, it was really nice. One of the things that was very interesting was this group of young lubavitch gymnists that the chasan knows and who perform at weddings. And man are they limber, doing splits and backward summersults on a small dance floor among other things. The dancing is always the funnest though. While walking to the car, I asked one of my friends what she thought and she said to ask her when she's not so exhausted. Lol.

On shabbos, I came over to their home in the afternoon and eventhough there was a bunch of people then, the place was packed during shalos seudos. And so we just had a buffet and sat or stood where ever. Overall, it was a very nice weekend.
